Babatunde: Eagles not afraid of Argentina

Super Eagles forward Michael Babatunde has dismissed fears that Nigeria will not be able to withstand Argentina in their last Group F clash at Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre tomorrow. Nigeria has lost to Argentina in all three previous meetings at this stage of the World Cup, bowing to the South Americans 1-2 in 1994 and 0-1 at the 2002 and 2010 editions respectively.
The FC Volyn Lutsk of Ukraine striker told Daily Trust here that the Albicelesti will not be the lucky side this time, as Nigeria is ready to give them the match of their life.
Though he admitted that Argentina has a quality team of gifted players, he said the Super Eagles are equally gifted and prepared to pocket the three points in order to top the group.
“We are not afraid of Argentina. I know that they have defeated us in our previous matches at the World Cup but we are determined to end that this year. We are not looking at any player, we are here to play and that is what we are going to do on Wednesday.
“Argentina have a great team and players, same with us but this year’s meeting is going to be different because we need the win to advance. So everybody in the team is prepared for this match so that we will win and top the group,” Babatunde s
