Abuja -  The security challenge in North and the Niger Delta is preventing the original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) of the Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries from coming for the planned turnaround maintenance of the facilities.

This has forced the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to engage other equipment and engineering companies to do the job, reports Energy Mix Report.

Andrew Yakubu, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, said the absence of the OEMs is of serious concern as the four refineries require continuous monitoring and intervention.

He noted that country has not been getting value from the companies recommended by OEMs.
