Still on Edo crisis

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole
There are a good number of concerned Edo people in and outside the state who believe that the current crisis is unwarranted. Behind the scene, there seems to be those who are not favourably disposed to the leadership style of this administration. But this ought not to be so because different leaders do have different approach to issues. Right or wrong, Edo State which has suffered several setbacks before the advent of this regime, has gradually regained its lost glory with the new look of the State.

I will be the first to concede that Governor Adams Oshiomhole is not without flaws. Having acknowledged this fact, any observer can clearly see Edo State today and yesterday. The moment has come for Edo people to ask proper questions and draw the right inferences about what is going on. The Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers, on whose side are they? What moral right do they have to accuse the governor of any wrong doing when they cannot point to any meaningful project in their constituencies? Before now, they were in one accord dining and wining together. The greatest satisfaction in a leader is that of building people, not in using people to accomplish your goals.
I am calling on the peace-loving people of Edo never to succumb to the temptation of believing that politicians will ever fight for their interest without their personal interest. Hitherto, the hurdles on our path to greatness have always been placed by the few with vested interest, selfish and inordinate ambition for power and wealth. My candid advice is that whoever desires a change must wait for the next election to test his or her popularity. To do otherwise will be an act of betrayer and being insensitive to the pain and anguish of the Edo people.
