Beware of ‘fake’ supporters, Ijaw group tells Jonathan [print]

The President, Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, Mr. Udengs Eradiri, has asked President Goodluck Jonathan and Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, to be cautious of the gale of endorsements by self-serving persons and groups.
Eradiri, who spoke on Wednesday at a news conference, lamented that most sponsors of such rallies and endorsements were inconsequential persons only out to make money and gain political favours.
The IYC President said though the showering of accolades on the President and Dickson for a job well done was commendable, they should be careful as this is the season for sycophants to strive in their business of deceit through rallies and endorsements.

He said, “The President and the governor should be able to separate sycophancy from true support. Any man who is supporting the governor and when he is given an assignment should be able to do his job diligently.
“Most of them that are drumming support were given jobs to do but have abandoned them. Those are not genuine supporters. Some of the people clapping their hands for the governor are the people creating problems for him. And so, the governor should be able to decipher sycophancy and true support. He has done well and it is time for him to go for second term.”
Eradiri said Ijaw youths would use the forthcoming Ijaw Youth World Summit at the Petroleum Training Institute Effurun, Warri, Delta State, to call on Jonathan and Dickson to seek re-election in 2015.
