Falcons will rule Africa again – Oshoala

Canada 2014 FIFA U20 World Cup Most Valuable Player Asisat Oshoala has backed the Super Falcons to reclaim the African Women’s Championship in Namibia next month.
Oshoala is one of the players listed to receive national honours on Monday in Abuja.
The AWC, which is in its ninth edition, has been scheduled to hold in Namibia from October 11 to 25.

The striker, who is expected to make the 2014 AWC squad, said the Falcons would aim to regain the title they lost two years ago in Equatorial Guinea.
“We know the task ahead of us in Namibia is not going to be easy but we are determined to win the cup and go back to the World Cup in Canada as African champions,”Oshoala was quoted by the   senior national women’s football team media officer Gracious Akujobi as saying on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Falcons coach Edwin Okon said on Sunday that the 21 players that will represent Nigeria at the AWC would be released on Monday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Confederation of African Football has given September 30 as the deadline for teams to submit their final lists for the AWC.
NAN reports that 30 players were invited to the Falcons camp on September 14, but only   23 players are currently in camp.
Nigeria will open their campaign against Ivory Coast on October 11 and face Zambia three days later. The Falcons will end their Group A battles with host Namibia on October 17.
