Some aspirants have expressed disappointment at the refusal of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State to sell expression of interest forms to them.
Politicians close to some of the aspirants told our correspondent in Osogbo on Tuesday in separate interviews that the leadership of the ruling party in the state was scheming to give the forms to the “anointed ones.”
An aspirant, who pleaded not to be named for fear of being persecuted, told our correspondent that “some powerful people from the top are determined to give tickets to those already serving at the House of Assembly and the National Assembly.”
He said, “As I am talking to you, none of the aspirants can obtain any form, even though the expression of interest forms closed since October 20. Other states have concluded this exercise.
“Rather than playing on the intelligence of aspirants, the party leaders should let us know the programmes of the party.

“We even learnt that only one form is available for each of the federal constituencies, meaning that the party would give that to only its favoured candidate.”
But the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC in Osun State, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, when contacted on the telephone told our correspondent that the party would make the forms available before the end of the week.
Oyatomi said the allegation that the leaders of the party were reserving nomination forms for serving lawmakers and the predetermined candidates was untrue.
According to him, the party has promised all aspirants that the forms will be made available after it is through with matters arising from the congresses held recently.
He said, “Aspirants should not be in a hurry. The forms will be made available very soon. It may be before the end of this week.”
