The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has condemned the violence which marred the Assembly primary in the Ebute Meta area of the state which left about four youths dead.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, told our correspondent during an interview that those who perpetrated the violence were not members of the party but hoodlums who seized the busy nature of the primary to perpetrate violence.

He said it was unfortunate that despite the huge presence of policemen at the venue, hoodlums were still able to perpetrate violence.
He, however, promised that the party would ensure that other primary elections were conducted peacefully.
He said, “What happened is regrettable. It is unfortunate that violence could be perpetrated at the venue despite the huge presence of policemen. “We sympathise with the families of the deceased.”
