I can’t quite place the exact time it became a thing but celebrity women showing off their baby bumps in high-profile photo-shoots during pregnancy became a big deal at some point.
It seems every A-list female celebrity with a cookie in the oven wants to show off to the world how sexy it is be pregnant. At some point, it even became a competition of sort. Who has the ‘hottest’ pregnancy body?

While the jury is still out on whether it’s ‘okay’ for an ‘African’ woman to show of her nakedness while in full term, some people think it’s actually kind of hot. Did I hear you whisper ‘perverts’? 
To me though, Pregnancy Shoots, nude or nah, are a way for a woman to declare ownership her own body even though it is inhabited by another being. Too often, pregnancy robs women of their ‘sexiness’, and with the onset of motherhood, it seems that ‘hotness’ is lost forever. However, as a high-profile celebrity with a perception to protect, a well-managed and nicely shot ‘pregnancy cover’ is a nifty gimmick to remain relevant while you’re obviously incapacitated with a beach ball in your mid-section and you really can’t hop around the stage or in front a camera for the foreseeable future.
